CHAPTER HISTORY

Chattered in 1989, the Cincinnati Queen City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, is a sisterhood of African American college-educated women in the Greater Cincinnati area who are dedicated to community involvement.

Since its chartering, the chapter has implemented numerous programs and services that have impacted the greater Cincinnati community. These outstanding contributions have not only impacted the community but have resulted in national recognition of chapter programs including awards for promoting awareness of Clinical Depression and enabling young girls develop their science and technology skills.

The chapter’s signature programs include the Beautillion Militaire, Delta G.E.M.S. Programs, Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, and Health and Wellness. Cincinnatti Queen Alumnae has presented more than $500,000 in scholarships and awards to over 230 young men and women throughout Greater Cincinnati. Other programs supported by the chapter have included Habitat for Humanity, Junior Achievement, the Underground Railroad Freedom Center, People Working Cooperatively, voter registration, Mathew 25 Ministries, Free Store Food Bank, YWCA Battered Women’s shelter, HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, domestic violence and abuse initiatives, activities promoting the arts and various efforts that promote human welfare.

It is our distinct honor to welcome you to the home page for the Cincinnati Queen City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Our membership is keen to provide you with a window into the focus areas of our illustrious Sisterhood where we are consistently striving to serve the community of which we are proud to be a part.

Our organization is composed of college-educated women who are committed to the improvement of ourselves as scholars, leaders, and community champions. More importantly, we aim to bring our self-improvement to bear to serve our Greater Cincinnati community more effectively. we focus our public service through our Five Point Programmatic Thrust:

With over 30 years of committed public service to the local community, the Cincinnati Queen City Alumnae Chapter has faithfully carried the torch lit by our founders to uplift our community by encouraging empowerment via education, health, financial acumen, global connectedness, and political engagement. Regular educational programs hosted by the chapter include the Delta G.E.M.S, the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy, and the Beautillion Militaire programs. The chapter has distributed over $500,000 to local youth to promote the pursuit of education.
